A Reason, a Season or a Lifetime

Gold Hearts

People come into your life for a Reason, a Season or a Lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty; to provide you with guidance and support; to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it. It is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you are a reason, a season or a lifetime.

If For Little Boys

                    “If for Little Boys”

If he can make you think that he’s an angel

while doing things he’s not suppose to do,

If he has lots of ways to try your patience

yet charms you with a hug that’s just for you…

If he enjoys his games and new adventures but

seldom likes to have you out of sight,

If he can fill your days with love and laughter

and always be a source of pride and joy,

Then he’ll be all you ever hoped for —

A happy and contented little boy!

I support Soldiers’ Angels. This wonderful non-profit organization has really GREAT programs for all our troops.

But they can’t do it without our support and help. Check out the Soldiers’ Angels website, join the cause and see how you can lend a hand.

8-yr-old – Explains God

This was written by an 8-year-old named Danny Dutton, who lives in Chula Vista, CA. He wrote it for his third grade homework assignment, to ‘Explain God.’

Bible with Rosery

‘One of God’s main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace the ones that die, so there will be enough people to take care of things on earth. He doesn’t make grownups, just babies. I think because they are smaller and easier to make. That way he doesn’t have to take up his valuable time teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leave that to mothers and fathers.’

‘God’s second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at times beside bedtime. God doesn’t have time to listen to the radio or TV because of this. Because he hears everything, there must be a terrible lot of noise in his ears, unless he has thought of a way to turn it off.’

‘God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps Him pretty busy. So you shouldn’t go wasting his time by going over your mom and dad’s head asking for something they said you couldn’t have.’

‘Atheists are people who don’t believe in God. I don’t think there are any in Chula Vista … At least there aren’t any who come to our church.’

‘Jesus is God’s Son. He used to do all the hard work, like walking on water and performing miracles and trying to teach the people who didn’t want to learn about God.. They finally got tired of him preaching to them and they crucified him But he was good and kind, like his father, and he told his father that they didn’t know what they were doing and to forgive them and God said O.K.’

‘His dad (God) appreciated everything that he had done and all his hard work on earth so he told him he didn’t have to go out on the road anymore.. He could stay in heaven. So he did. And now he helps his dad out by listening to prayers and seeing things which are important for God to take care of and which ones he can take care of himself without having to bother God. Like a secretary, only more important.’

‘You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time.’

‘You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if there’s anybody you want to make happy, it’s God! Don’t skip church to do something you think will be more fun like going to the beach… This is wrong and besides the sun doesn’t come out at the beach until noon anyway.’

‘If you don’t believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can’t go everywhere with you, like to camp, but God can. It is good to know He’s around you when you’re scared, in the dark or when you can’t swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big kids.’

‘But….you shouldn’t just always think of what God can do for you. I figure God put me here and he can take me back anytime he pleases.’

‘And…That’s why I believe in God.’

I wonder if any of us could have done as well.
And he had such an assignment, in California, and someone published it!

I guess miracles do happen!

Amen

Treat Her in a Good Way

American Indian Couple

The Elders say the men should look at women in a sacred way.
The men should never put women down or shame them in any way.
When we have problems, we should seek their counsel.
We should share with them openly.
A woman has intuitive thought.
She has access to another system of knowledge that few men develop.
She can help us understand.
We must treat her in a good way.

In My Heart

Blue Sky with Clouds and rays of sunshine

I wish Heaven had a phone

so I could hear your voice again.

I thought of you today, but that is nothing new.

I thought about you yesterday and days before that too.

I think of you in silence, I often speak your name.

All I have are memories and a picture in a frame.

Your memory is a keep sake from which Ill never part.

God has you in his arms...

I have you in my heart.

What is Faith?

Faith is not without worry or care, but faith is fear that has said a prayer.

~Author Unknown

Faith is putting all your eggs in God‘s basket, and then counting your blessings before they hatch.

~Ramona C. Carroll

Faith is believing that the outcome will be what it should be, no matter what it is.

What Does Love Mean?

pink hearts with arroes boarder clip art

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds.

‘What does love mean?’

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

Touching words from the mouth of babes… what do you think:

‘When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore … So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.’
~Rebecca- age 8

‘When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.’
~Billy – age 4

‘Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.’
~Karl – age 5

‘Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.’
~Chrissy – age 6

‘Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.’
~Terri – age 4

‘Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.’
~Danny – age 7

‘Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss.’
~Emily – age 8

‘Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.’
~Bobby – age 7

‘If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend, who you hate,’
~Nikka – age 6

‘Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, and then he wears it every day.’
~Noelle – age 7

‘Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.’
~Tommy – age 6

‘During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn’t scared anymore.’
~Cindy – age 8

‘My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don’t see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.’
~Clare – age 6

‘Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.’
~Elaine-age 5

‘Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.’
~Chris – age 7

‘Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.’
~Mary Ann – age 4

‘I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.’
~Lauren – age 4

‘When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.’
~Karen – age 7

‘Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t think it’s gross.’
~Mark – age 6

‘You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.’
~Jessica – age 8

And the final one…

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, ‘Nothing, I just helped him cry.’
